Status: First draft
Gentleman Jim Pengelly lives a simple life. His home is an illegal log cabin on Dartmoor; and he lives off the land. By killing deer, and selling the meat.
Arrested once again for poaching, Jim is sentenced to three years in HMP Dartmoor.
Kate Hargreaves arrested Jim, and was impressed with the way he took it.
His only concern was the welfare of the male fawn he saved – now a young stag Jim thinks of as Dancer, because of the way he walks.
When Jim and Mallory, a London gangster, escape from the prison, Kate is part of the team tasked with catching him, a job she is eager to do: even though she questions why he would want to escape.
Kate finally catches the escapees, but the journey is not without it’s surprises.
Book 3 of the ‘Kate’ trilogy.
